Important Notice: Water Meter Upgrade Starts Monday
On Monday, April 20, 2026, the City of Cottondale will begin a citywide water meter replacement project to improve service, accuracy, and efficiency for all residents and businesses.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Technicians will be replacing existing water meters with new Kamstrup Smart meters.
- Work will take place Monday through Saturday during normal business hours.
- Most installations will take less than 30 minutes.
- A brief interruption of water service may occur during installation.
- Expect a door knock to announce work will begin, you will be given or will find a door hanger with important flush information.
There is NO COST to residents for this upgrade.
HOW TO PREPARE
- Please ensure clear access to your water meter (usually located near the street or sidewalk).
- Secure pets during scheduled work times.
- If your meter is located in a fenced area, please ensure access is available.
SAFETY & IDENTIFICATION
All authorized personnel will be clearly identified as HST Utility and will be working on behalf of the City. If you have any concerns, you may contact City Hall for verification.
